Em sculpt is a completely new type of body contouring. Em sculpt actually builds and tones muscle! Treatments are performed twice per week generally in a series 6 sessions per area. There are two things that make an Em sculpt contraction better than a contraction from ordinary exercise. First, during a regular contraction in the gym your brain sends a signal to activate approximately 45-55% of your muscle fibers. During an Em sculpt involuntary muscle contraction signaled by magnetic energy, approximately 95-100% of your muscle fibers are contracted. This leads to the ability to create more muscle fibers and to make these muscle fibers bigger and stronger. The second reason that makes Em sculpt able to build and tone muscle better than a regular exercise contraction is that Em sculpt has a programmed “cycle” within the treatment that pumps out lactic acid. Em sculpt has a well received side effect. It actually causes adjacent fat cells in the treated area to die through a process of apoptosis, which is basically suicide for the fat cell. Because of the 20k muscle contractions that are being performed in 30 minutes with Em sculpt, a lot of energy is needed to feed these contractions. It has been discovered that the muscle steals nearby energy for its involuntary contractions by causing the adjacent fat cell to release all of its free fatty acids at once. Releasing all of these free fatty acids at once are making the fat cells on both sides of the muscle permanently die. What does this mean for the patient? One is that the abdomen shows a 21% permanent decrease in fat cells after a series of treatments. Second, it looks as if the abdominal muscle is stealing fat from the visceral fat on the interior side of the abdominal wall as well. So we may for the first time have a way to treat the unhealthy, visceral fat that accumulates around the organs. What a nice side effect at no extra charge. Cool Sculpting is still our preferred treatment for permanent fat reduction but it never hurts to have extra help from another body contouring treatment, Em sculpt.
Em sculpt can also be used as a therapeutic treatment. We are currently working with senior who have lost core strength and have resorted to walking with canes. With Em sculpt for the geriatric patient we can safely and effectively build leg and core strength increasing qualify of life. A VI Peel is a moderate-depth chemical peel that may improve your skin texture and improve signs of aging. It uses a blend of ingredients that include salicylic acid, TCA, and phenol. You can get a VI Peel as frequently as every 4 to 6 weeks, and it can be used on all skin types.

In the post peel kit for the VI Peel, the Post Peel Protectant has soy and the SPF has coconut alkane so it is not suggested to use these products if the person has this type of allergy. Instead, it is suggested to use Aquaphor® to help with the healing process and a high SPF (30 or above) to protect the skin.
There is no issue in receiving a VI Peel or any VI Peel. Our aftercare products are also free of sulfates.
There is no concern with this type of allergy concerns with using the peel solution or boosters. The post peel protectant does have shea butter and soybean oil if that is of concern. The SPF has coconut alkane so if that is of concern they can use aquaphor for healing process and a high SPF (30 or above ) to protect their skin during and after the peeling process.
There is no gluten in any of the VI Peels. However, our Post Peel Protectant has oat kernel and Avena Sativa Kernal which is a gluten so alternative products such as Aquaphor® or coconut oil can be used during the peeling process to help with healing.
If you are on short term antibiotics it is safe to receive the VI Peel, it may just make your skin slightly more sensitive during application and the healing process. If on long term antibiotics (possibly for Acne at low dosage) check with your practitioner about the safety of it as long term use can possibly thin the skin out in which case, you would want to wait approximately 6 months before receiving a VI Peel.
It is safe to have a VI Peel while using Spironolactone as it makes the skin less oily and the peel will be able to better penetrate the skin layers. It also can help lessen acne flare ups.
It is safe for someone on blood thinners to have a peel. It is not suggested to have vigorous application while on blood thinners.
For Ulthera, due to patient comfort, swelling, and sensitivity in the skin it is suggested to wait 2-4 weeks post when skin has returned to normal and always check with providing practitioner before having done.
If a series is recommended, the VI Peel is suitable to receive every 4-6 weeks as directed by your Practitioner. Your Practitioner will be able to create your own unique skincare plan for your skincare needs. You can also have the VI Peels quarterly/seasonally and receive four (4) peels a year for the maintenance of healthy skin.

All you need is gloves. VI peels are suitable for exfoliating the face and body. They also have vitamins and minerals which nurture the skin at the same time as it is going through the exfoliation process. The VI Peel also comes with a take home kit that includes Post Peel Towelettes, Post Peel Protectant, and VI Derm SPF 50+ to help your patients with healing during the exfoliation process. According to ASAPS data, chemical peels are the 4th most performed noninvasive procedure in the US with over 1 million done each year.
The VI Peel is suitable for darker skin tones, but consult with your Practitioner to see if you are a candidate. The peel is intended to help address discoloration, uneven skin tone, dark spots and pigmentation. The peel may make the skin tone appear lighter, but it is actually returning the skin to its natural tone by removing damage. PIH – Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation can arise following any chemical peel. The potential for inflammation to instigate the melanogenesis process resulting in pigment deposition. With the darker skin tones it is suggested to apply the post peel protectant provided 10 minutes after using each dark green post peel towelette.
The youngest age suggested for the VI Peels is around 12 to 13 years old and can go all the way through mature age ranges. It is always best to check with your medical practitioner to see if you are a good candidate for the VI Peel.
It is possible for the Melasma to appear darker after one peel as it is coming to the surface of the skin. It is suggested to have a series of VI Peels when a person has melasma as it may be deep in the layers of the skin and take a series of peels to lift the damage. If a patient suffers from long term melasma, a series of 4-6 peels may be necessary to lighten the pigment condition. It is not suggested to be overly aggressive on melasma while applying the peel as it can add inflammation and heat to the skin which can worsen the condition. You can apply with a bit more pressure to help penetrate the skin layers, but once any redness appears do not continue with heavy pressure
Purging or experiencing mild acne breakouts after getting a VI Peel is completely normal. This type of acne purging can happen after any exfoliating treatment, as the treatment increases cellular turnover, not only lifting dead skin cells but also allowing for any congestion that is trapped beneath the skin to come to the surface. It’s important to remember that your acne may seem to get worse before getting better, and you may need multiple VI Peel treatments to resolve your acne. Purging of the skin will reduce with subsequent peels as congested pores become cleared. In between treatments, we recommend using products that help further increase cellular turnover, like VI Derm Retinol Age-Defying Treatment Moisturizer.
