What Are PRP Joint Injections?
PRP joint injections use platelet-rich plasma created from your own blood to support the body’s natural healing response inside damaged or inflamed joints. Platelets contain growth factors that help your joint tissues repair, strengthen, and calm inflammation. Because this treatment uses your own plasma, it is considered biocompatible and does not rely on synthetic materials.
During a PRP session, we draw a small amount of blood and place it in a centrifuge to separate the plasma layer. This concentrated PRP is then injected directly into the affected joint by your provider. Many patients in The Colony and Frisco appreciate that PRP offers a minimally invasive option with little downtime and long-term benefits.
